It’s simultaneously huge and depressing for me. I knew it the whole time but LA Fashion Week conflicts with Fashion at the Park. I’ve been a long time FATP attendee and I don’t know how I feel about missing it—add to the equation that there are no associated travel expenses. I am so SAD!!!! I charged my $65 application fee “to the game” and have just considered it a cost of playing. At least now IMG Fashion will have record of me when I submit my next application to attend the shows in Spring ’09 and I'll have contact names at the fashion houses so I can start fostering relationships. I’m really tormented about whether I want to go to NY or LA early next year. Of course NY is THE place to be, hands down, but New York in March is anything but sexy. My ideal scenario would be to see the Fall 09 collections in LA in March, and see the Spring ’10 collections in NY circa October. I would honestly feel like I’m getting the best of both worlds, then. If I really want to be a bad ass I’ll go to Swim in Miami during the summer and drag my ex-model boyfriend with me (since he’s never been to the beach… my dear, sweet Okie).

Since we’re on the topic of conflicts, I’ve already posted the FATP shows that I have access to. Well on Sat, Oct. 11, I have a conflict with the Bebe runway show @ 11pm.

I’ll be tipping my hat after Ted Baker and rushing off to the Paladium Ballroom to review the Roots/Gym Class Heroes concert for the Dallas Observer. My two worlds… colliding. Man, that sucks.
